Amir Salim, M.D.
Dr. Salim is Board Certified in Family Medicine. He earned his Medical Degree from Baylor College of Medicine in 1997. He envisions taking care of the whole family with integrative and holistic approach to health care. With that goal, he pursued a residency in Family Medicine at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. He is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor at UTMB Department of Family Medicine.
Dr. Salim has been in private practice in the Friendswood, Clear Lake, Webster area since 2000. He believes in integrating preventive medicine, nutrition and healthy lifestyle to achieve optimal physical, emotional, social, spiritual, and intellectual health.
He grew up in Jakarta, Indonesia until he was 13, and attended secondary school and junior college in Singapore. He graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology with highest honors. He conducted genetic research at MD Anderson Science Park for 2 years prior to attending medical school at Baylor College of Medicine. He enjoys teaching and mentoring medical students or nurse practitioner students during their clinical rotations in the office. He is married to Elaine who helps manage his office and is blessed with 2 daughters. He is a foodie and enjoys swimming for exercise. He loves his rescue dog, Harry Houdini who often consult with him in the office.
